Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
Thank you for using ELIOR. These terms explain how our service works, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. By using ELIOR, you agree to these terms.
What is ELIOR?
ELIOR is an AI-powered grading platform built for IELTS teachers. Teachers use ELI Credits to grade student essays. Students submit work through anonymous student codes — they don't need accounts, and we never collect their personal information.
Our AI provides band score estimates and detailed feedback, but these are tools to assist teachers, not official IELTS results. Human judgement should always be the final word.

By creating an account or using ELIOR, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. We may update these terms from time to time — we'll notify you of significant changes via email.

AI processing disclosure
Essays submitted to ELIOR are processed by Anthropic Claude and OpenAI, third-party AI services. Important things to know:
- Essay content is sent to Anthropic and OpenAI for AI analysis
- Your essays are not used to train AI models
- AI-generated scores are advisory estimates, not official IELTS band scores
- Teachers should always apply professional judgement to AI feedback
Student privacy
ELIOR is designed with student privacy as a core principle:
- Students are identified only by anonymous codes
- We collect no personal information from students — no names, no emails, no accounts
- Teachers control all student data through their accounts
Prohibited use
Don't use ELIOR to:
- Submit essays through automated scripts or bots
- Resell access or share your account with others
- Cheat on actual IELTS examinations
- Submit content that's illegal, harmful, or infringes others' rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit the AI system
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Limitation of liability
ELIOR is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to provide accurate, helpful feedback, but:
- AI scores are estimates, not guarantees of actual IELTS results
- We're not liable for exam outcomes that differ from our predictions
- We're not liable for service interruptions, though we work hard to minimise them
- Decisions made based on AI feedback are your responsibility
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as ELIOR evolves. For significant changes, we'll email you in advance. Continuing to use ELIOR after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
